Lahore, June 14, 2025: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the names of 15 players, including former captains Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, who will participate in the first batch of its Skills and Development Camp starting June 16 at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore.
The 20-day camp will feature a total of 47 players, divided into three groups. The first batch will train from June 16 to 21, while the second and third batches will attend the camp from June 23 to 28 and June 30 to July 5, respectively.
According to the PCB, players will undergo fitness and fielding sessions from 6:00 am to 8:00 am, followed by skill-specific net practice sessions from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm at the Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) Ground and the NCA from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays and Saturdays, match-scenario sessions will be held at the LCCA Ground.
Director High Performance, Aqib Javed, stated that the selected players were invited following detailed consultations with Pakistan’s newly appointed white-ball head coach, Mike Hesson.
“This is an invaluable opportunity for players to briefly step away from the pressures of competitive cricket and focus on fitness and key technical aspects of their game,” Javed said. “With a packed international calendar ahead, this camp will help players return better prepared for upcoming challenges.”
He further emphasized the alignment between the coaching staff at the NCA and the national men’s team, noting that the camp will offer one-on-one coaching sessions to address individual player needs.
“These personalized sessions allow players to gain deeper insights into their games, identify areas for improvement, and receive targeted guidance. It’s about equipping them with the clarity and tools required to elevate their performance,” Javed added.
In addition to aiding player development, the camp is also expected to assist selectors in shaping squads for both the Pakistan men’s national team and the Pakistan Shaheens ahead of their upcoming international assignments.
