Riyadh, June 27, 2025: Football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has signed a new two-year contract extension with Saudi football club Al-Nassr, creating waves across the global football community due to its record-breaking value and unprecedented benefits. The renewed agreement now makes it one of the most expensive football contracts in the world.
Ronaldo shared a photo on social media platform X alongside Al-Nassr Chairman Abdullah Al-Majed, holding a new jersey emblazoned with the year “2027.” Captioning the post, he wrote, “A new chapter begins — same passion, same ambition. Let’s make history together.” Al-Nassr later confirmed in an official statement that Ronaldo’s contract has been extended for two more years, keeping him at the club until 2027.
The Portuguese star originally joined Al-Nassr in 2022 and has since scored 93 goals in 105 appearances. Before moving to Saudi Arabia, he represented top European clubs, including Manchester United. Over the course of his illustrious career, Ronaldo has netted 938 goals and is now edging closer to the 1,000-goal milestone. Under his leadership, Portugal has claimed major titles such as the UEFA Nations League and the European Championship.
According to British sports outlet TalkSPORT, the contract will earn Ronaldo an annual salary of £178 million — roughly PKR 66 billion — translating to a daily income of approximately PKR 180 million. In addition to this staggering salary, the contract includes numerous financial perks:
- A signing bonus of £24.5 million in the first year, increasing to £38 million in the second.
- An £8 million (PKR 280 million) bonus if Al-Nassr wins the Saudi Pro League.
- A £6.5 million (PKR 230 million) reward for winning the AFC Champions League.
- A £4 million (PKR 140 million) bonus if Ronaldo wins the Golden Boot.
- £80,000 per goal, increasing by 20% in the second year.
- £40,000 per assist, also subject to a raise in the following year.
The agreement also grants Ronaldo a 15% ownership stake in Al-Nassr, valued at around £33 million (PKR 1.16 billion). Additionally, he is guaranteed sponsorship deals worth €60 million (PKR 1.8 billion), while the club will cover the €4 million (PKR 120 million) annual costs of his private jet.
This historic deal not only reaffirms Ronaldo’s global stardom but also underscores Saudi Arabia’s growing ambitions in the world of football.
