Islamabad, June 29, 2025: In a landmark step towards promoting youth development and physical fitness, the Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) has launched an ambitious initiative to upgrade sports infrastructure in government schools across Islamabad. Spearheaded by Minister Rana Sanaullah, the program aims to integrate sports into the daily lives of students and foster a culture of physical activity, teamwork, and holistic growth.

Key highlights of the initiative

  • Pedal Tennis Courts: Eight pedal tennis courts will be constructed in schools and colleges across the capital. Three courts are expected to be completed by the end of July, with the remaining five ready within the next 2–3 months.
  • Footsoles: Five public colleges will be equipped with footsuls to encourage participation in foot-based sports, enhancing agility and coordination.
  • Tracksuit Distribution: 25,000 tracksuits will be distributed to students from Grade 5 to 10, aimed at encouraging mass participation in sports and physical activities.
  • Mind Games Rooms: A total of 115 mind games rooms will be set up in public schools to support strategic thinking, problem-solving, and cognitive development among students.
  • Sports Equipment: Schools will receive comprehensive sports kits including hockey, cricket, football, basketball, and volleyball gear, providing students with access to a variety of sports.
  • Combat Sports Facilities: Ten boxing rings and ten taekwondo arenas will be established to introduce students to discipline-based combat sports, nurturing confidence and resilience.

On this occasion, Minister for IPC Rana Sanaullah stated that “This initiative marks a significant milestone in promoting sports and physical activity among the youth of Islamabad. We aim to create a generation that excels not only academically but also in sports and extracurricular activities.”

Secretary IPC emphasized the long-term vision stating that the Ministry is committed to providing opportunities for the holistic development of our students. These facilities will foster teamwork, discipline, and leadership.

Director General (DG) Sports Board added that we are excited to partner with the Ministry on this initiative. These diverse sports facilities will help uncover and nurture hidden talent, contributing to the growth of sports in Islamabad.
