The total number of dengue cases in Islamabad has now reached 1,404, the DHO confirmed. The rural areas have been hit particularly hard, with 51 new cases reported in the past day, raising the total number of dengue patients in these areas to 864.

In urban areas, 26 new cases have been recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of infected individuals to 558.

Hospitals in the capital are also seeing an increase in admissions, with four dengue patients admitted to PIMS hospital and another four to Poly Clinic in the past 24 hours, according to health officials.

The DHO further revealed that 67% of the affected individuals in Islamabad are men, while 33% are women.
