Rawalpindi, July 15, 2025: The Adiala Jail administration has stated that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan is receiving all facilities entitled to him under the prescribed rules for B-Class prisoners, firmly rejecting allegations of mistreatment or discrimination.
According to official sources, Khan is housed in a two-cell complex that includes a dedicated courtyard for walking and cycling. He is provided LED lighting, reading materials including newspapers and books of his own choosing, and enjoys daily meals prepared by an assigned cook according to his personal preferences — privileges exceeding those typically afforded to other B-Class inmates.
In terms of health and security, jail-appointed doctors conduct thrice-daily checkups, with recent reports confirming that Khan is in good health and suffering from no underlying medical conditions. He is also allotted two hours of daily open-air exercise.
Since his imprisonment in August 2024, Khan has remained politically active. Through intermediaries, he has issued 413 tweets, offering directives to PTI supporters on key matters such as the 2024 general elections, the Sialkot by-election, party protests, and the 26th Constitutional Amendment. His public statements have generated headlines on at least 45 occasions in under a year.
Additionally, Khan has engaged with over 10 international media outlets, including The Telegraph, Reuters, ITV, Fox News, and The Wall Street Journal. He also speaks regularly with Pakistani journalists during court proceedings held within the jail premises.
In the last three months alone, 66 visitors — including PTI lawmakers, legal representatives, and party leaders — have been granted access to meet him.
Rejecting online claims of harsh treatment, the jail administration described such reports as “baseless and politically motivated,” aimed at creating unnecessary sensationalism. Officials asserted that Imran Khan is not only being treated fairly under the rules for B-Class prisoners but is in fact receiving better facilities than any other inmate currently detained at Adiala Jail.
The administration reaffirmed its commitment to upholding Khan’s legal rights, health, and security, in line with the Punjab Jail Manual and broader legal protocols.
