Multan, October 6, 2024 – Pakistan has announced its playing XI for the first Test match against England, with fast bowler Aamir Jamal being included in the squad.

The first match of the series between the two teams will start on Monday, October 7, in Multan. National team captain Shan Masood, during a press conference, revealed the lineup and stated, “This is our best playing XI, and Aamir Jamal’s inclusion will prove beneficial.” He further mentioned that no changes were made in the batting lineup to maintain stability.

Speaking about Pakistan’s defeat in the previous Test series against England, Shan Masood emphasized the need to develop an effective strategy against the English team. He acknowledged all-rounder Ben Stokes as one of England’s best players but noted that even in his absence, England’s playing XI remains strong.

It’s worth mentioning that before facing England, Pakistan suffered a 2-0 Test series whitewash at home against Bangladesh.

Playing XI: Saud Shakeel (Vice Captain), Abdullah Shafique, Saeem Ayub, Shan Masood (Captain), Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan (Wicketkeeper), Salman Ali Agha, Aamir Jamal, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, Abrar Ahmed.
