Suicide car bomb attack targets convoy of Chinese citizens near Karachi airport

Karachi, October 07, 2024- Investigative sources have claimed that a suicide bomber in an explosives-laden car rammed into a foreign convoy outside Karachi Airport last night. According to the security official sources, a small car was used in the attack, with the suicide bomber waiting for the convoy to pass.

The attacker reportedly collided with the vehicle, carrying foreign citizens, as soon as the convoy arrived. The car, believed to be packed with explosives, was completely destroyed in the explosion. Sources revealed that a large quantity of explosives was used, causing significant damage to multiple vehicles.

Special Investigation Team Formed

In response to the incident near the airport, a special investigation team has been formed on the orders of the Inspector General (IG) of Sindh. Bomb disposal teams from East, South, and West districts will be involved in the investigation.

Casualties Reported

Hospital officials have confirmed that three bodies were brought to Jinnah Hospital following the explosion, two of whom were foreigners. The third victim was a local resident, whose identity has yet to be confirmed.

It is important to note that the powerful explosion, which took place near the Karachi Airport signal last night, resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including foreigners, and left 17 others injured.
