Imran Khan’s children to Visit Pakistan, Says Sister Aleema Khan

Rawalpindi, July 22, 2025: Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan, announced on Monday that Khan’s children will visit Pakistan to meet their father in Adiala Jail.

Speaking to the media outside the prison, Aleema expressed serious concerns over restrictions placed on family visits. “Initially, six people were allowed to meet him, then it was reduced to just two sisters, and now even those meetings have been stopped,” she said, adding that her sisters, Noreen Niazi and Uzma Khan, were denied access today.

Aleema confirmed that Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, and lawyer Zaheer Abbas Chaudhry were permitted a visit earlier in the day. She alleged that court orders regarding visitation rights are being openly violated.

According to Aleema, Imran Khan has urged the party to launch a movement for the rule of law, stating that all legal and political channels have been blocked.
“He said they first took away PTI’s electoral symbol, then the reserved seats, and now he simply wants to appear in court,” she quoted.
Aleema added that Khan described the current ruling coalition as a “gang of corrupt fools,” likening it to a dysfunctional alliance in Nigeria. He accused Pakistan’s elite of looting national resources and warned that the economy is in a state of unprecedented crisis.

Khan reportedly told his family that people are being convicted on false testimonies and that “all eyes are now on how the Lahore judge decides on these fabricated cases.”

Aleema confirmed that Khan’s children, who hold NICOPs (National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistanis), will soon arrive in Pakistan to meet their father.
She also alleged that Khan is being held in complete solitary confinement, naming the jail superintendent and a military colonel as key figures allegedly harassing him.
“The superintendent is lying about his treatment,” she stated, adding that Khan has specifically identified individuals responsible for the mistreatment.

Aleema concluded that PTI would announce its position on the upcoming Senate elections soon, but noted that Imran Khan remains unaware of political developments outside prison due to his isolation.

Also speaking to reporters, senior lawyer Salman Akram Raja raised alarm over what he described as troubling convictions in the May 9 cases.
“The sentences being handed down are deeply concerning,” he said. “We will approach the Supreme Court and fight our case.”

Raja downplayed reports of internal party rifts, saying such disagreements are not uncommon in political organizations, and clarified that he had not held any separate meeting with Zaheer Abbas.
