Islamabad, October 8, 2024 – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the establishment of the “Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for Palestine and Lebanon” to support victims of Israeli aggression. The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has been instructed to open a dedicated account for this initiative, as stated by the Prime Minister’s Office.

Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, will oversee the relief operations. This announcement was made during a cabinet meeting held on Tuesday.

Additionally, the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom updated the cabinet on the progress of e-office implementation across federal ministries and institutions. As a result of efforts to enhance e-governance, Pakistan has climbed 14 spots in the United Nations E-Government Development Index.

The cabinet was informed that e-office systems are fully operational in all 40 divisions of the federal government, with several ministries achieving complete implementation. The prime minister called for continued improvements and requested a review of progress within two weeks.
