Dubai, August 14, 2025: Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam has dropped to third place in the latest ICC Men’s ODI Player Rankings after a disappointing series against the West Indies.

Babar managed just 56 runs in three matches at an average of 18.66, reducing his rating points to 751. India’s captain Rohit Sharma has overtaken him to claim second place.

Among other Pakistani players, ODI skipper Mohammad Rizwan slipped from 21st to 22nd with 602 points, while opener Fakhar Zaman—absent from the West Indies series due to injury—fell four places to 27th. Imam-ul-Haq and Agha Salman dropped to 37th and 41st, respectively, and Saim Ayub slid nine places to 46th. Abdullah Shafique, however, gained seven spots to 90th with 428 points.

In the bowlers’ rankings, left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi slipped to 13th with 599 points after taking just four wickets in three games. Haris Rauf dropped to 27th, Naseem Shah to 43rd, and Mohammad Wasim Jr to 71st. Spinner Abrar Ahmed climbed to 54th, while Mohammad Nawaz held his 64th spot.

Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana remains the world’s No. 1 ODI bowler, followed by India’s Kuldeep Yadav and South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj.
