Islamabad, August 22, 2025: Pakistan’s exports surged by 16.43 per cent in July 2025, reaching $2.68 billion, driven primarily by robust growth in the textile sector, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on Friday.
Textile exports jumped 32 per cent to $1.67 billion, with significant increases recorded in ready-made garments, cotton yarn, fabric, knitwear, bed linen, and towels. However, exports of tents, canvas, and tarpaulin showed a decline during the period.
Meanwhile, food exports fell by 10.25 per cent to $426.9 million. Shipments of basmati rice, vegetables, oilseeds, sugar, plastic materials, pharmaceuticals, and transport equipment declined, while exports of fruits, spices, meat, and meat products registered an uptick.
Other sectors showing growth included auto parts, leather goods, and surgical instruments. Petroleum group exports, including coal, dropped sharply by 23.37 per cent to $48.8 million.
