Dhaka, August 22, 2025: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Friday unveiled a 16-member squad for the upcoming Asia Cup, scheduled to begin on September 9.

Fresh from a morale-boosting 2-1 home series victory against Pakistan, Bangladesh have recalled wicketkeeper-batter Qazi Nurul Hasan Sohan after nearly three years. The squad features a heavy emphasis on all-round options, with Saif Hassan, Shamim Hossain, Mahedi Hasan, Rishad Hossain, Nasum Ahmed, and Shaif Uddin included.

The Tigers have also named four frontline pacers — Mustafizur Rahman, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Taskin Ahmed, and Shoriful Islam — for the continental event. Interestingly, the selectors opted for four wicketkeepers: Litton Das, Jaker Ali, Nurul Hasan Sohan, and Parvez Hossain Emon.

Bangladesh will open their Asia Cup campaign against Hong Kong on September 11 at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Bangladesh squad: Tanzid Hasan, Towhid Hridoy, Litton Das, Jaker Ali, Nurul Hasan Sohan, Parvez Hossain Emon, Saif Hassan, Shamim Hossain, Mahedi Hasan, Rishad Hossain, Nasum Ahmed, Shaif Uddin, Mustafizur Rahman, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam.
