Sharjah, September 8, 2025: Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha and fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi have pledged to donate their earnings from the recently concluded tri-nation series in Sharjah to victims of the devastating floods sweeping across Pakistan.

Announcing the decision on X, Salman wrote, “Currently our country is going through a difficult time. Myself and Shaheen Afridi will donate tri-nation series earnings to all affected by floods back home. I’d encourage our stars to donate in rebuilding for those whose lives are destroyed.”

The gesture comes as Pakistan grapples with its second catastrophic monsoon flooding in three years. Since late June, the NDMA has reported over 900 fatalities, more than 1,400 villages inundated in Punjab, and the displacement of over one million people.

The announcement coincided with Pakistan’s emphatic 75-run victory over Afghanistan in the tri-series final on Sunday. Spinner Mohammad Nawaz produced a career-best performance, taking 5/19, including a stunning hat-trick to dismantle Afghanistan’s batting lineup.

Chasing 141, Afghanistan were bundled out for just 66 runs. Shaheen Afridi struck early to remove opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz, before Nawaz ripped through the middle order, dismissing Darwish Rasooli, Azmatullah Omarzai, and Ibrahim Zadran in successive deliveries. He later accounted for Karim Janat and Rashid Khan to seal his maiden five-wicket haul.

Earlier, Pakistan’s batting wavered but contributions from Salman Ali Agha (24 off 27) and Nawaz (25 off 21) helped the team post a competitive 141-8.
