Doha, September 15, 2025: Pakistan on Monday called on the United Nations to suspend Israel’s membership and proposed the creation of an Arab-Islamic task force to counter what it described as Tel Aviv’s “expansionist designs.”

“Pakistan strongly condemns Israel’s reckless and provocative attack on Doha on September 9, clearly aimed at sabotaging peace efforts in the Middle East,” Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif told leaders at an emergency Arab-Islamic summit in the Qatari capital.

He said the strike, which Qatar says violated its sovereignty and territorial integrity, was not an isolated episode but part of Israel’s “declared hegemonic ambitions.”

“Israel’s genocidal campaign has reduced Gaza to rubble and ruin. The world shall always bear the scars of this unending carnage etched on the very sword of humanity,” Sharif said.

The Pakistani leader urged the creation of an Arab-Islamic Task Force to take “effective measures” against Israel, reiterating the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) longstanding demand to suspend Israel’s UN membership.

He also pressed the UN Security Council to invoke Chapter VII of the UN Charter to demand an “immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire,” the release of hostages, and the exchange of Palestinian prisoners.

Sharif further called for “guaranteed, sustained, and secure humanitarian access” in Gaza, stressing the protection of relief workers, medical staff, and journalists.

Reiterating Pakistan’s support for Palestinian statehood, he said: “We must achieve a just, comprehensive, and lasting two-state solution, with the creation of an independent state of Palestine along pre-1967 borders.”
