Lahore, September 22, 2025: Nashra Sandhu’s record-breaking six-wicket haul and Sidra Amin’s unbeaten half-century powered Pakistan to a six-wicket win over South Africa in the third ODI of the three-match series at Gaddafi Stadium on Monday.
Chasing a modest 116, Pakistan reached the target with ease, losing just four wickets and sealing victory with 114 balls to spare. In-form opener Sidra Amin anchored the chase with a fluent unbeaten 50 — her third successive fifty-plus score in the series — while partner Muneeba Ali contributed a steady 44 off 76 balls. The duo added 65 runs for the second wicket to set up the win.
For South Africa, Nonkululeko Mlaba and Nadine de Klerk took two wickets apiece, but the total proved too small to defend.
Earlier, South Africa’s decision to bat first backfired as they were bundled out for 115 in just 25.5 overs. At 59/2, the visitors looked settled, but Omaima Sohail’s dismissal of Karabo Meso (12) sparked a dramatic collapse.
Sandhu then ripped through the middle order, claiming 6/26 in nine overs — the second-best bowling figures by a Pakistani in women’s ODIs — while Syeda Aroob Shah struck twice to finish off the tail. Diana Baig and Omaima picked up one wicket each.
Captain Laura Wolvaardt top-scored with 28, while Masabata Klaas and Nadine de Klerk chipped in with 13 apiece. No other South African batter crossed double figures against a relentless Pakistan attack.
Despite Pakistan’s consolation win, South Africa claimed the series 2-1 after dominant performances in the earlier matches. Centuries from Marizanne Kapp and Tazmin Brits powered them to an emphatic win in the opener, while Brits struck another ton alongside Wolvaardt’s century to secure a 25-run victory in the rain-affected second ODI.
