Birmingham, September 9, 2026: Pakistan handed Test debut caps to three players for the third and final Test against England at Edgbaston on Wednesday as the visitors made several changes to their playing XI.
Pacers Razaullah and Mohammad Imran Randhawa, along with wicketkeeper-batter Ghazi Ghori, received their maiden Test caps ahead of the series finale.
Saud Shakeel presented Ghazi Ghori with his debut cap, while Mohammad Abbas handed Razaullah his cap and captain Babar Azam presented Imran Randhawa with his maiden Test cap.
Saim Ayub also returned to the Pakistan side after last representing the national team against South Africa in 2025.
Pakistan entered the Edgbaston Test trailing 2-0 in the three-match series following heavy defeats at Headingley and Lord’s.
England won the series opener inside three days by an innings and 103 runs after posting 409 in their first innings. Pakistan were subsequently dismissed for 171 and 135 in their two innings.
The visitors suffered another heavy defeat at Lord’s, losing by 194 runs. England scored 290 in their first innings before bowling Pakistan out for 110.
The hosts then added 208 in their second innings to set Pakistan a target of 389. Pakistan were eventually dismissed for 194, giving England a 2-0 lead in the series.
Pakistan now face a daunting task of avoiding a clean sweep in the final Test, while England will look to complete a 3-0 series victory on home soil.
