Islamabad, October 8, 2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday lauded the peaceful and amicable resolution of the recent situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), assuring that the federal government would take all possible measures to address the concerns and grievances of the Kashmiri people.
Chairing a meeting with members of the government’s negotiating committee following the successful conclusion of talks in AJK, the prime minister praised the committee’s efforts for resolving the matter through dialogue and mutual understanding.
The meeting was attended by federal ministers Ahsan Iqbal, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Sardar Muhammad Yusuf, Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, and Ahad Khan Cheema, Adviser to the PM Rana Sanaullah, Chairman of the PM’s Youth Programme Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, and National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.
Prime Minister Shehbaz also commended the Joint Action Committee for its cooperation and constructive engagement, noting that such dialogue reflected a shared commitment to the region’s peace, development, and prosperity.
“The government will continue to serve the Kashmiri people and take all necessary steps to resolve their issues, as public welfare and peace remain our top priorities,” the prime minister said. “We have always safeguarded the rights of our Kashmiri brothers and sisters and will continue to do so.”
Reaffirming his government’s unwavering focus on AJK’s development, the prime minister said Islamabad would keep working in close coordination with the regional leadership to ensure that the aspirations of the Kashmiri people were fully realized.
