Islamabad, October 12, 2025: Iran, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia have called on both Pakistan and Afghanistan to exercise restraint and pursue dialogue amid escalating border tensions following recent cross-border clashes.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi urged both neighbouring countries to avoid further confrontation, saying that stability between Pakistan and Afghanistan is crucial for regional peace.
“Our position is that both sides must exercise restraint,” Araghchi said, according to AFP. “Stability between the two countries contributes to overall regional stability.”

Qatar also voiced deep concern over the situation, warning that the ongoing hostilities could have serious implications for regional security.
In a statement, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged both sides “to prioritise dialogue and diplomacy, exercise restraint, and work to contain the disputes in a way that helps reduce tension, avoids escalation, and contributes to regional peace and stability.”

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia echoed similar sentiments, calling for calm and wisdom in handling the crisis.
“The Kingdom calls for restraint, avoiding escalation, and embracing dialogue and wisdom to help reduce tensions and maintain security and stability in the region,” the Saudi Foreign Ministry said.

Riyadh further reaffirmed its support for regional and international efforts to promote peace and stability, pledging continued commitment to ensuring the security and prosperity of the “brotherly Pakistani and Afghan peoples.”

The coordinated diplomatic appeals come as the region watches the fast-evolving border situation with growing concern, amid fears of wider instability if hostilities persist.
