Islamabad, October 14, 2025: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday briefed foreign envoys on the latest developments along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border, outlining Islamabad’s position on recent tensions and cross-border incidents.
According to the Foreign Office, Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch provided a detailed account of the situation, drawing attention to the rising number of terrorist attacks in Pakistan originating from Afghan territory. She clarified that Pakistan’s recent actions were carried out under its inherent right to self-defence in response to these provocations.
Baloch reaffirmed that Pakistan remains committed to the principles of peaceful neighbourliness and regional stability, stressing the importance of mutual respect for sovereignty and constructive engagement between the two countries.
The briefing was attended by Additional Secretary (Afghanistan & West Asia) Syed Tahir Andrabi, Additional Secretary (UN & Economic Coordination) Syed Ali Asad Gilani, and other senior officials from the Ministry.
