Faisalabad, November 6, 2025: Pakistan have won the toss and elected to bat first against South Africa in the second One-Day International (ODI) of the three-match series being played at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad.
The hosts made two changes to their playing XI, with Mohammad Wasim Jr and Faheem Ashraf replacing Abrar Ahmed and Hasan Nawaz. South Africa also made two changes, bringing in Nandre Burger and Nqaba Peter in place of Lungi Ngidi and Lizaad Williams.
In the series opener at the same venue, Pakistan edged out South Africa by two wickets in a thrilling finish. Batting first, the Proteas were bowled out for 263 in 49.1 overs, with Quinton de Kock (63) and Lhuan-dre Pretorius (57) leading the scoring.
Pakistan chased down the target with two balls to spare, finishing on 264 for eight in 49.4 overs. Salman Ali Agha top-scored with 62 off 71 balls, while Mohammad Rizwan contributed 55 off 74. The chase was anchored by an 87-run opening partnership between Saim Ayub (39) and Fakhar Zaman (45).
On the bowling front, Abrar Ahmed and Naseem Shah shared six wickets, taking three apiece. The victory gave Pakistan a 1–0 lead in the three-match ODI series.
