Faisalabad, November 6, 2025: All-rounder Mohammad Nawaz’s explosive 59-run cameo, following half-centuries from Saim Ayub and Salman Ali Agha, powered Pakistan to a competitive total of 269 for nine in the second ODI against South Africa at the Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, on Thursday.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Pakistan endured a shaky start as Nandre Burger tore through the top order, dismissing Fakhar Zaman (0), Babar Azam (11), and Mohammad Rizwan (4) inside the first five overs to leave the hosts reeling at 22 for 3.

Saim Ayub and Salman Ali Agha steadied the innings with a vital 92-run partnership for the fourth wicket, rebuilding Pakistan’s momentum. The stand was eventually broken in the 25th over when Corbin Bosch claimed a sharp return catch to remove Saim for a well-crafted 53 off 66 balls, including five fours and a six.

Pakistan lost Hussain Talat (10) soon after, but Agha continued to anchor the innings, adding 59 runs for the sixth wicket alongside Nawaz. Agha top-scored with a fighting 69 off 105 balls, striking five boundaries before being dismissed by Bosch in the 41st over.

Nawaz then took charge in the final overs, launching a flurry of boundaries to lift Pakistan past the 250 mark. His 59 off 59 balls featured four sixes and three fours, before he was removed by Nqabayomzi Peter on the second-last ball of the innings.

Faheem Ashraf provided late fireworks with a brisk 28 off 18 balls, hitting two sixes and as many fours.

For South Africa, Burger was the standout performer, finishing with 4 for 46 in 10 overs. Peter claimed three wickets, while Bosch took two to cap an effective all-round bowling display.

Pakistan currently lead the three-match series 1–0, after clinching the first ODI by two wickets at the same venue.
