Karachi, December 11, 2025: Olympian Jehanara Nabi dominated the women’s swimming events at the 35th National Games on Thursday, winning five individual and three team gold medals to help Pakistan Army clinch the general trophy in the discipline.
The Pakistan Army showcased unmatched supremacy, claiming 12 gold medals, eight more than second-placed Sindh, which won four, while WAPDA secured third place with three golds. Nabi’s stellar performance earned her the Best Swimmer Award, highlighting her significant contribution to the Army’s medal haul. Sindh’s Hareem Malik emerged as the next-best performer, clinching four gold medals, including two on the final day.
Adding to Pakistan Army’s growing tally, Zainab Khan captured another gold in women’s squash, defeating Mahnoor Ali of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the final.
As of December 10, Pakistan Army leads the overall standings with 113 golds, 50 silver, and 34 bronze medals, followed by WAPDA with 46 golds and Pakistan Navy with 24.
The National Games will conclude on December 13 with a star-studded closing ceremony at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi, expected to be attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The Games continue to showcase emerging talent across disciplines, with Pakistan Army maintaining a strong hold on the medal table.
