Lahore, December 13, 2025: Non-official results of the Punjab Bar Council elections have been released, showing a decisive victory for the Asma Jahangir Group, which won 8 out of 11 seats in the provincial elections.

Among the successful candidates from the Asma Jahangir Group are Azam Nazir Tarrar, Ahsan Bhon, and Pir Masood Chishti, reflecting strong support within Punjab’s legal community.

The Hamid Khan Group secured 2 seats, with Salman Akram Raja and Shafqat Chauhan emerging victorious, indicating that while the group retains a presence in Punjab’s bar politics, the Asma Jahangir Group has clearly taken the lead.

The final and official results are scheduled to be announced on December 22, 2025. Until then, the non-official results provide an early indication of the likely composition of the council and the balance of power among bar associations in the province.

The Punjab Bar Council plays a critical role in regulating legal practice, representing lawyers’ interests, and contributing to judicial reforms in the province. With the Asma Jahangir Group winning the majority of seats, they are expected to influence key decisions within the council, shaping policy and governance for lawyers across Punjab.

The election results are being viewed as a reflection of the group’s popularity and widespread support for its agenda within the provincial legal community. The official announcement on December 22 will confirm all successful candidates in Punjab.
