UAE Ambassador calls on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, reaffirms commitment to stronger bilateral ties

Islamabad, December 21, 2025: Salem Mohammed Salem Al Bawab Al Zaabi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Pakistan, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House on Saturday. The Prime Minister was assisted during the meeting by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) Tariq Fatemi and Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly welcomed Ambassador Al Zaabi and congratulated him on his recent appointment. He underscored the deep-rooted, brotherly relations between Pakistan and the UAE, highlighting the enduring bonds of friendship, mutual respect, and close cooperation that have characterized bilateral ties for several decades. The Prime Minister conveyed his warm regards and best wishes for the UAE leadership and expressed his anticipation for the upcoming visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, to Pakistan.

Expressing satisfaction over the current volume of bilateral trade, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to further enhance economic cooperation, trade, and investment between the two countries. He identified key sectors for collaboration, including energy, minerals, information technology, railways, and aviation, and reiterated Pakistan’s strong commitment to deepening its partnership with the UAE. The Prime Minister also invited increased UAE investments to support Pakistan’s economic growth and stability, while acknowledging the UAE’s consistent support for Pakistan, particularly in times of need, through humanitarian assistance and development projects.

Ambassador Al Zaabi thanked the Prime Minister for the meeting and conveyed the greetings and best wishes of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Reaffirming the UAE’s firm resolve to further strengthen relations with Pakistan, he expressed keen interest in expanding cooperation across all sectors and assured the Prime Minister of his commitment to exploring new avenues of partnership for the mutual benefit of both countries.
