Speaker NA meets Chairman Senate

Islamabad, January 13, 2026: Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, on Tuesday met Chairman of the Senate, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, in his chamber. Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, was also present during the meeting.

Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani warmly welcomed the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker. During the meeting, the two sides held a detailed exchange of views on legislative affairs, the effective role of Parliament, and other issues of mutual interest.

Both the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Chairman of the Senate reaffirmed their commitment to upholding parliamentary traditions, strengthening democratic values, and enhancing coordination between the National Assembly and the Senate to ensure a more effective and productive legislative process in the national interest.

Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani praised Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq for his positive and constructive role in promoting dialogue between the government and the opposition. He appreciated the Speaker’s impartial treatment of members from all political parties and commended his conduct of National Assembly proceedings in a transparent and unbiased manner.

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq thanked the Chairman Senate for the warm reception and kind remarks. The Speaker and Deputy Speaker also acknowledged and appreciated the transparent and impartial role of Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani in running Senate affairs.

On the occasion, Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq reiterated his resolve to further strengthen coordination among the country’s constitutional and legislative institutions and to promote parliamentary harmony.
