Islamabad, January 27, 2026: Acting Chairman of the Senate, Syedaal Khan Nasar, met today with a three-member delegation from the United States Embassy, led by Political Counselor Ms. Shelley A. W. Saxen, at the Parliament House in Islamabad to discuss matters of mutual interest and strengthen bilateral ties.

Speaking at the meeting, Syedaal Khan Nasar emphasized that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relationship with the United States. He noted that under the current government’s effective diplomatic strategy, Pakistan–US relations have further strengthened and are grounded in mutual respect, trust, and shared interests.

The Acting Chairman highlighted the cordial meetings between US President Donald Trump, Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and Chief of Defense Forces General Syed Asim Munir, praising the US President’s historic role in averting escalation during periods of Pakistan–India tensions, which, he said, saved millions of lives.

Syedaal Khan Nasar also underscored Pakistan’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, noting thousands of lives lost and billions of dollars in economic losses. He stressed that the international community must recognize Pakistan’s contributions and extend further cooperation, particularly as counter-terrorism operations continue in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Highlighting Pakistan’s investment potential, he encouraged American companies to explore opportunities in the country to strengthen economic, commercial, and social ties. He also emphasized the importance of parliamentary exchanges in fostering mutual trust and cooperation. Extending a special invitation, he urged the US delegation to visit Balochistan, assuring full security arrangements and the traditional hospitality of the province.

The US delegation conveyed their best wishes to the Acting Chairman and reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to its relations with Pakistan. They acknowledged Pakistan’s sacrifices in combating terrorism and pledged to promote awareness among American companies about investment opportunities in Pakistan, while expressing condolences over the passing of Syedaal Khan Nasar’s sister-in-law.

In conclusion, both sides reiterated their commitment to continued cooperation, with the US delegation appreciating Pakistan’s role in promoting regional peace and stability.
