NA Speaker condoles passing of AJK President Barrister Sultan

Islamabad, January 31, 2026: Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, expressed profound grief over the passing of Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, President of Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

In his condolence message, Speaker Sadiq paid rich tribute to Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry for his distinguished political and social services, particularly his efforts in highlighting the Kashmir issue at international forums. He said that the late leader’s tireless advocacy for the legitimate rights of the Kashmiri people will always be remembered.

Sadiq described Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry as a seasoned statesman and a committed advocate of the Kashmir cause, whose work played a pivotal role in amplifying the voice of the Kashmiri people worldwide.

Expressing heartfelt condolences to the deceased’s son, Yasir Sultan Mehmood, Minister of the Government of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, the NA Speaker said he stands shoulder to shoulder with the bereaved family in this hour of grief.

He prayed to Allah Almighty to grant the departed soul a place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and to bestow patience and fortitude upon the family to bear this irreparable loss.
