Islamabad, February 10, 2026: Danish Ambassador to Pakistan, Maja Derrous Mortensen, visited the National Incubation Center (NIC) Islamabad to observe the impact of the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication’s flagship initiative on the country’s evolving startup ecosystem.
Managed by a consortium of leading commercial partners, the NIC has supported more than 450 startups, including over 75 women-led ventures. The center has facilitated investments exceeding PKR 31 billion and contributed to the creation of more than 200,000 direct and indirect jobs nationwide.
During the visit, Ambassador Mortensen expressed particular appreciation for the NIC’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, especially its specialized DeepTech laboratories, where innovative ideas are being transformed into practical solutions.
The visit highlighted the growing role of collaboration, technology, and entrepreneurship in shaping Pakistan’s economic future, while underscoring international interest in the country’s expanding innovation landscape.
