Islamabad, February 10,2026: Uzbekistan’s major private airline, Centrum Air, has announced plans to expand its operations to Pakistan by launching direct flights between Tashkent and Lahore starting in April this year. The new route is expected to operate twice weekly, enhancing air connectivity between the two countries.
In recent years, air links between Uzbekistan and Pakistan have grown significantly. Uzbekistan Airways currently runs four weekly flights connecting Tashkent with Islamabad and Lahore, with more than 30,000 passengers having utilized these services so far. Official figures indicate that nearly 19,000 Pakistani tourists visited Uzbekistan in 2025, benefiting from improved travel options.
The introduction of additional direct flights is anticipated to boost trade, economic, and investment cooperation, while also promoting exchanges in tourism, education, science, academia, and cultural and humanitarian fields.
Founded in 2023, Centrum Air operates a fleet of 14 aircraft and is rapidly expanding its regional footprint.
