Ishaq Dar reviews progress on privatization of state-owned entities

Islamabad, February 12, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a high-level meeting to review progress on the privatization of state-owned enterprises (SOEs), underscoring the government’s commitment to ensuring a transparent, competitive, and efficient process.

The committee assessed ongoing efforts and deliberated on the way forward to advance the privatization agenda. Senator Dar emphasized the importance of fair market valuation that accurately reflects both existing assets and future business potential.

He reiterated that the privatization drive is intended to attract private-sector investment and enable state-owned entities to operate more effectively in response to evolving market dynamics.

The meeting was attended by the Minister for Finance, Minister for Economic Affairs, Minister for Commerce, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Privatization Tariq Bajwa, the Advisor to the Prime Minister, Attorney General for Pakistan, Secretary Privatization, and Secretary Defence.
