Islamabad, February 13, 2026: In line with the vision of Sardar Ayaz Sadiq to strengthen institutional capacity and enhance efficiency at the National Assembly Secretariat, the Batch-1 In-House Training Programme concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony at Parliament House.

Secretary National Assembly Saeed Ahmad Maitla presented Certificates of Participation to 50 officers from Grade-17 to 20 who had attended the training programme conducted from December 1, 2025, to January 9, 2026. The programme, organized by the Training Branch of the National Assembly Secretariat, is part of a structured initiative focused on professional development and capacity building of employees.

The comprehensive programme provided participants with in-depth knowledge of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973; the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the National Assembly, 2007; the National Assembly Employees Act, 2018 and its rules; relevant Finance Rules; and the Rules of Business, 1973. It aimed to strengthen officers’ understanding of parliamentary procedures, legislative processes, financial regulations, and administrative frameworks governing the functioning of the National Assembly.

Addressing the ceremony, Secretary Maitla emphasized that capacity building and continuous professional development are essential to ensure efficient, transparent, and effective parliamentary support services. He noted that well-trained officers are the backbone of a vibrant parliamentary institution, as their expertise directly contributes to improved legislative support, procedural compliance, and institutional efficiency.

He further highlighted that the training would enhance officers’ professional competence, decision-making abilities, and understanding of constitutional and legal responsibilities. By deepening their knowledge of procedural and financial rules, participants are better equipped to perform their duties with confidence, accuracy, and accountability, contributing to improved service delivery.

Secretary Maitla appreciated the Training Branch’s efforts in organizing the programme and reiterated that, in line with the Speaker’s vision, structured training initiatives will continue regularly to further strengthen the institutional capacity of the National Assembly Secretariat.

The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates, with senior officers of the National Assembly also in attendance.
