Islamabad, February 16, 2026: The Ambassador of Hungary to Pakistan, Zoltán Varga-Haszonits, paid a visit to the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and held a meeting with FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral trade, investment, and industrial cooperation between Pakistan and Hungary.

The meeting was attended by FPCCI Vice Presidents Tariq Jadoon and Muhammad Raziq, Capital Office Chairman Karim Aziz Malik, and FPCCI members Zahid Maqbool, Rashid Humayion, Badar Haroon, Dost Ali Jan, Asif Javed, along with Ms. Aliya Agha, Ms. Rabia Raheel, and Ms. Ayesha Khan.

During the discussions, both sides emphasized the need to enhance the existing trade volume and promote the exchange of business delegations. Exploratory talks were also held on potential joint venture projects, aimed at fostering long-term industrial collaboration between the two countries.

President Atif Ikram Sheikh highlighted the vast opportunities available in Pakistan for Hungarian investors, particularly in agricultural technology, food processing, pharmaceuticals, and information technology. He said Pakistan is offering a “one-window” facility and a highly conducive environment for foreign investment. He specifically invited Hungarian companies to explore opportunities in energy and infrastructure development as well as auto parts manufacturing, noting the strong potential within Pakistan’s industrial hubs.

Stressing the need for practical measures to boost economic cooperation, the FPCCI president underscored the importance of organizing business-to-business (B2B) meetings and joint business forums, which he said could give a new dimension to Pakistan–Hungary bilateral trade relations.

Ambassador Zoltán Varga-Haszonits reaffirmed Hungary’s keen interest in deepening economic ties with Pakistan. He noted that Hungarian companies possess specialized expertise in modern agricultural machinery, water management, and healthcare technology. The ambassador assured full support for facilitating investment initiatives and expressed confidence that the economic partnership between Pakistan and Hungary is poised to enter a new phase of growth.
