Islamabad, February 20, 2026: Dr. Oumer Hussien Oba, Ambassador of Ethiopia, paid a courtesy call on Atadjan Movlamov, Ambassador of Turkmenistan and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Islamabad, on Friday.
During the meeting, the two ambassadors exchanged views on issues of mutual interest and explored potential avenues for bilateral, regional, and multilateral cooperation between Ethiopia and Turkmenistan.
Ambassador Dr. Oumer H. Oba commended Turkmenistan’s role in supporting landlocked countries, stressing the importance of strengthening bilateral relations through enhanced cooperation in aviation, energy, culture, and education.
Ambassador Atadjan Movlamov briefed his Ethiopian counterpart on Turkmenistan’s principle of permanent neutrality and highlighted the country’s initiatives aimed at promoting transit corridors to facilitate trade and connectivity for landlocked nations. He also shared insights into the activities and role of the diplomatic corps in Islamabad.
The meeting underscored the shared commitment of Ethiopia and Turkmenistan to deepen diplomatic engagement and expand cooperation in areas of common interest, particularly in support of regional connectivity and development.
