Lefkosa, October 26,2026: The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has welcomed a decision by Libya’s House of Representatives concerning the memorandum of understanding on the delimitation of maritime jurisdiction areas between Türkiye and Libya.

In a statement issued on Monday, the TRNC Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the decision adopted on October 20, 2026, regarding the agreement, which has been in force since 2019.

The ministry described the move as a historic step grounded in the principles of international law and equity and reflecting regional realities.

The statement reaffirmed the TRNC’s full solidarity with Türkiye’s vision of establishing peace, security and stability across the Mediterranean region.
