Islamabad, March 1, 2026: The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Pakistan has strongly condemned what it described as a “cowardly, hideous and barbaric terrorist act” targeting the leadership of Iran.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the embassy paid tribute to the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, recalling his “bravery, resistance, steadfastness, and lifelong devotion” to the ideals of independence, dignity and resistance.

The statement reaffirmed unwavering solidarity with what it termed the noble aspirations of the Islamic Revolution and pledged firm commitment to its enduring principles. It emphasized that supporters would stand by the “eternal aspirations” of the leader with determination and resolve.

Describing Ayatollah Khamenei as a “great historical figure,” the embassy compared his struggle to that of Imam Hussein, stating that he was martyred bravely and did not surrender in the face of adversity. It added that his sacrifice would strengthen the foundations of the Islamic Republic.

According to the statement, the blood of the leader would make the “ever-green sapling” of the Islamic Republic more resilient, and his lifelong struggles would remain recorded in history as a model for people seeking freedom and justice.

The embassy further underscored that the Islamic Republic of Iran is built upon strong constitutional institutions and established legal mechanisms. It maintained that, in accordance with the Constitution, continuity of leadership and governance would be ensured with unity, resilience and steadfast determination.

The statement concluded by asserting that Iran would elect new leadership in line with its constitutional framework and continue on what it described as its spiritual and humane path.
