Islamabad, March 4, 2026: Ambassador Dato’ Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, on Wednesday signed the Book of Condolence at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Islamabad following the passing of His Excellency Try Sutrisno, former Vice President of Indonesia.

During his visit, Ambassador Azhar conveyed his deepest condolences and extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family, as well as to the Government and people of Indonesia. He described the late leader as a devoted patriot and distinguished statesman whose significant contributions to Indonesia’s stability and national development would be remembered with great respect and admiration.

The High Commissioner reaffirmed Malaysia’s solidarity with Indonesia during this time of mourning and underscored the close and longstanding ties between the two neighbouring nations. He highlighted that bilateral relations are deeply rooted in shared history, cultural affinities, and strong people-to-people linkages.

Malaysia, he added, stands in solemn solidarity with Indonesia and joins the international community in honouring the legacy and dedicated service of the late former Vice President.
