North Waziristan, March 6, 2026: A suicide attack targeted a security checkpost in North Waziristan on Friday, leaving at least 14 civilians injured, according to officials.

Police said the attacker struck the Chashma Sarbandi checkpost located on the Miranshah–Bannu Road, triggering a powerful explosion that caused panic in the surrounding area and wounded several people who were nearby at the time.

The injured were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital Miranshah for medical treatment. Hospital authorities confirmed that at least four of the wounded are in critical condition.

Medical Superintendent Dr Asif Iqbal said emergency measures were immediately implemented at the hospital to treat the victims, adding that more injured individuals were still being brought in for treatment.

Officials said there have so far been no confirmed reports of fatalities from the attack. Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
