NA Speaker pays tribute to legendary actor Shujaat Hashmi

Islamabad, March 13,2026: Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq expressed profound grief over the demise of Pakistan’s celebrated actor, Shujaat Hashmi, highlighting his significant contributions to the country’s film, television, and radio industry.

In a statement, the NA Speaker described Hashmi as a distinguished and versatile performer, whose long and illustrious career greatly contributed to the growth and evolution of Pakistan’s showbiz sector. He said the late actor’s exceptional talent and dedication would always be remembered and appreciated.

Sadiq noted that through his work in dramas, films, and radio, Hashmi played an important role in promoting Pakistani culture and the performing arts. He added that the memorable performances and iconic characters created by Hashmi will continue to resonate with audiences for years to come.

The NA Speaker also extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, praying that Allah Almighty grant the departed soul the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and bestow patience and strength upon the family to bear their loss.

Hashmi’s passing marks the end of an era for Pakistan’s entertainment industry, leaving behind a legacy that will inspire future generations of artists.
