Islamabad, March 16, 2026: Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Sunday said that the blessed night of Laylat al-Qadr provides Muslims with a unique opportunity to seek the mercy and forgiveness of Allah Almighty while reflecting on their deeds.

In a message issued on the occasion, the speaker said the sacred night brings immense spiritual blessings and serves as a moment for repentance, supplication and self-accountability.

Sadiq noted that Laylat al-Qadr has been described in the Qur’an as “better than a thousand months,” highlighting the profound significance of the night for Muslims around the world.

He urged believers to devote the blessed moments to prayers, remembrance of Allah, seeking forgiveness and performing righteous deeds in order to attain divine pleasure.

The speaker also emphasised the need to promote values such as patience, tolerance, compassion and brotherhood, saying the occasion should inspire efforts to strengthen unity and humanity within society.

Sadiq called upon the nation to offer special prayers for the peace, stability and prosperity of Pakistan during the holy night, seeking Allah’s blessings for national unity and progress.

He further urged Muslims to pray for greater harmony and solidarity within the Muslim Ummah so that the challenges facing the Muslim world could be addressed with collective strength.

The speaker also asked the nation to remember the oppressed Muslims of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine in their prayers, expressing hope that they would soon achieve freedom, peace and justice.

He also urged the public to pray for the safety and success of Pakistan’s security forces who are fighting terrorism and safeguarding the country.

Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah said Laylat al-Qadr offers a valuable opportunity for spiritual renewal and strengthening one’s connection with Allah Almighty.

In his message, Shah encouraged Muslims to increase prayers, supplications and righteous deeds on the blessed night, while expressing hope that the nation would pray for Pakistan’s peace, development and prosperity as well as unity within the Muslim Ummah and global peace.
