Islamabad, March 20, 2026: President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation on Friday, exchanging greetings on the occasions of Eid-ul-Fitr and Nowruz.

The two leaders conveyed their heartfelt wishes for peace, prosperity, and continued progress to the people of Uzbekistan and Pakistan, describing the festivals as occasions of great significance for the Muslim Ummah and the region.

They underscored that the recent state visit of President Mirziyoyev to Pakistan in February had elevated bilateral relations to a new level of strategic partnership. Both sides expressed satisfaction that, following the high-level engagements, cooperation among ministries, institutions, and regional authorities has gained momentum, with exchanges increasingly yielding tangible outcomes.

During the conversation, the leaders also voiced concern over rising tensions in South Asia and the Middle East. They emphasized the importance of resolving all disputes through peaceful dialogue and diplomatic means.

Reaffirming their commitment to closer cooperation, both leaders agreed to continue efforts to further strengthen bilateral ties and promote regional peace and stability.
