Islamabad, March 25, 2026: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday held a telephone conversation with the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, discussing the evolving regional situation and bilateral ties.
During the call, the two leaders exchanged warm Eid ul Fitr greetings, reaffirming the close and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Qatar.
The prime minister expressed deep concern over the ongoing hostilities in the region and strongly condemned recent attacks targeting Qatar and other Gulf countries. He conveyed heartfelt condolences over the loss of lives and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering support, Shehbaz Sharif assured the Qatari leadership of full solidarity with the people of Qatar during the challenging period.
He also appreciated Qatar’s restraint amid rising tensions and briefed the Amir on Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic outreach and peace efforts. The prime minister reiterated that Pakistan has consistently called on all parties to de-escalate tensions and resolve disputes through dialogue and diplomacy.
The Qatari Amir appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role and efforts for regional peace. Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact as the situation continues to evolve.
