Islamabad, April 9, 2026: PM Shehbaz Sharif met with Field Marshal Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Staff (CDF), at the Prime Minister’s Office to review Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting sustainable peace in the region.

During the meeting, the dignitaries assessed the progress of Pakistan’s mediatory initiatives and discussed the evolving regional situation. Both leaders expressed satisfaction over the de-escalation achieved thus far and emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and ensuring adherence to ceasefire commitments by all parties involved.

The civil and military leadership appreciated the restraint demonstrated by all sides and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to facilitating dialogue. They reiterated the country’s readiness to extend full support to the concerned parties in achieving a peaceful and negotiated settlement through diplomacy.

Prime Minister Sharif lauded the constructive engagement and commitment shown by the stakeholders involved in the peace process. He also conveyed his best wishes for the success of ongoing efforts aimed at restoring stability in the region.

Renewing Pakistan’s role as a facilitator for peace, the Prime Minister extended his invitation to the arriving delegations and assured them of the highest consideration, hospitality, and support.

The meeting underscored Pakistan’s proactive diplomatic stance and its continued commitment to fostering regional stability through dialogue and cooperation.
