Karachi, April 9, 2026: Islamabad United secured a dominant nine-wicket victory over Lahore Qalandars in a low-scoring Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 clash at the National Bank Stadium, marking Islamabad’s third win of the tournament.
Chasing a modest target of 101, Islamabad United lost only one wicket by the 11th over, powered by an outstanding innings from Devon Conway.
After a shaky start with opener Sameer Minhas dismissed for five by Shaheen Afridi on the third over’s first delivery, Conway and Mohammad Faiq forged a steady partnership. The pair surpassed 50 runs by the sixth over, maintaining a healthy scoring rate while keeping Qalandars’ bowlers at bay.
Conway’s scintillating form saw him reach his maiden PSL fifty, finishing unbeaten on 59 off 35 balls, including seven fours and three sixes. Faiq contributed a lively 34 from 19 deliveries, hitting six fours, guiding Islamabad United to a comfortable win.
Earlier, Lahore Qalandars were restricted to 100 all out in 18.3 overs, thanks to a dominant spin attack from Islamabad United. Imad Wasim removed Mohammad Naeem for a first-ball duck, while Haseebullah Khan and Abdullah Shafique attempted to stabilize the innings with a 26-run partnership. Imad struck again to dismiss Shafique for 10, leaving Qalandars at 27-2.
Chris Green cleaned up Haseebullah for 19, while captain Shadab Khan dismissed Rubin Hermann, reducing Qalandars to 41-4. Asif Ali and Sikandar Raza rebuilt with a 31-run stand before Shadab removed Asif for 15. Chris Green further dismantled the tail, claiming the wickets of debutant Ryan Burl and Sikandar Raza, while Richard Gleeson and Faheem Ashraf wrapped up the innings.
Chris Green was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3 for 19 in four overs. Imad Wasim, Richard Gleeson, and Shadab Khan claimed two wickets each, while Faheem Ashraf chipped in with one.
Islamabad United’s clinical performance with both bat and ball underscored their intent in PSL 11, as they continued their strong start in the tournament.
