Islamabad, April 13, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Wang Yi, during which the two leaders discussed recent regional developments and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting peace through diplomacy.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the leaders exchanged views on the recently concluded Islamabad Talks and the direct negotiations between the United States and Iran.

During the conversation, Foreign Minister Wang Yi congratulated Pakistan on its dedicated efforts to foster peace and stability across the region. He reaffirmed the People’s Republic of China’s continued support for Pakistan’s constructive diplomatic role in facilitating dialogue.

Senator Ishaq Dar reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to advancing dialogue and diplomacy as the preferred means of restoring regional peace. He underscored Islamabad’s resolve to support initiatives aimed at de-escalation and constructive engagement among global stakeholders.

Emphasizing that dialogue remains the only viable path forward, both leaders discussed the Pakistan–China Five-Point Peace Initiative, aimed at facilitating the peaceful resolution of disputes and strengthening regional stability.

The two sides also reaffirmed the enduring strength of bilateral ties and agreed to remain in close contact, reflecting the depth of the Pakistan–China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.

The telephone conversation highlights the growing diplomatic coordination between Islamabad and Beijing in addressing evolving geopolitical challenges and promoting peace in the broader region.
