Islamabad, April 15, 2026: Alex Berg von Linde, Ambassador of Sweden to Pakistan, hosted renowned Pakistani adventurer Samar Khan for an engaging session under the “Fika With Friends” initiative, celebrating her remarkable achievements in extreme sports.
The meeting followed Samar Khan’s historic 300-kilometre dog-sledding expedition through the Scandinavian Arctic. In early April, she became the first Pakistani athlete to successfully complete the gruelling Fjällräven Polar 2026, marking a significant milestone for Pakistan in international endurance sports.
The occasion provided an opportunity for an informal cultural exchange, with the ambassador hosting Samar over traditional Swedish cinnamon buns, known as Kanelbullar—a treat she had missed during her journey across the frozen tundra.
During their discussion, Samar Khan and Ambassador Berg von Linde emphasized the importance of promoting women’s participation in sports. They also highlighted their shared commitment to fostering inclusive environments where athletes from diverse backgrounds can thrive and excel.
The interaction symbolized the strengthening of people-to-people ties between Pakistan and Sweden, underscoring the role of sports and cultural diplomacy in deepening bilateral relations.
