Islamabad, April 15, 2026: Deputy Chairman Senate, Syedal Khan Nasar has described the emerging ceasefire and resumption of direct engagement between the United States and Iran as a “major and historic diplomatic achievement” in which Pakistan’s efforts have played a significant role.

Addressing the concluding session of the National Workshop Balochistan-19 held at Parliament House, Islamabad, the Deputy Chairman Senate said Pakistan’s political and military leadership contributed to reducing decades of mistrust between Washington and Tehran, helping avert the risk of a wider global confrontation.

He noted that the renewed dialogue between the two countries after nearly half a century reflects the effectiveness of Pakistan’s “realistic and peace-oriented foreign policy,” adding that the development has significantly eased regional tensions and may contribute to broader global stability.

Syedal Khan Nasar said the international community, diplomatic circles, and global media were acknowledging Pakistan’s constructive role, terming it evidence of the country’s growing diplomatic stature. He further stated that interest had been expressed in holding future rounds of negotiations in Pakistan, reflecting increasing global confidence in Islamabad as a responsible and credible facilitator of dialogue.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to peace, he said the country has consistently pursued practical measures to promote stability and counter misinformation campaigns. He added that national leadership had delivered a strong message of unity and wisdom through effective coordination between political and military institutions.

He emphasized that close cooperation between civilian and military leadership remains essential for national stability, progress, and resilience. He also appreciated the role of the media in projecting Pakistan’s positive narrative on the global stage.

Referring to the National Workshop Balochistan-19, the Deputy Chairman said the initiative, launched in 2017, continues to serve as an important platform for policy dialogue on national issues, particularly those concerning Balochistan. He stressed that such forums are critical for strengthening national cohesion and promoting informed policymaking.

The workshop, jointly hosted by the Government of Balochistan and Headquarters 12 Corps Quetta, was praised for reflecting strong civil-military coordination in support of national development. Highlighting Balochistan’s strategic and economic importance, he said the province would play a vital role in Pakistan’s future growth and stability.

During the session, Syedal Khan Nasar also engaged with participants in an interactive discussion on parliamentary procedures, legislative processes, and the responsibilities of elected representatives.

At the conclusion of the event, certificates and shields were distributed among participants in recognition of their performance. The Deputy Chairman Senate reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to actively contributing to global peace, stability, and development.
