Islamabad, April 20, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Monday held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to discuss the ongoing ceasefire and broader regional stability, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

During the call, Dar underscored the importance of sustained dialogue and early engagement to resolve outstanding issues and promote peace in the region. Both sides agreed to remain closely engaged and continue diplomatic coordination on evolving regional developments.

The discussion focused on efforts to support the ceasefire and advance de-escalation through diplomatic channels, amid heightened tensions in the region.

This marks the second contact between the two foreign ministers in less than 24 hours, signaling intensified diplomatic activity as Islamabad steps up consultations with regional partners to help reduce tensions and maintain stability.
