Peshawar, November 7, 2024 -In a critical session chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, the Apex Committee of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has introduced strengthened security measures to address the province’s evolving law and order situation. Attendees included the Provincial Finance Minister, Corps Commander Peshawar, Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police (IGP), and senior civil and military officials, highlighting a unified commitment to enhancing regional security.

The committee conducted a thorough assessment of security challenges, focusing on districts with increased risks. Following detailed discussions, a new action plan was established to bolster security protocols in these areas.

The meeting opened with a solemn recitation of Fatiha, honoring the sacrifices of security personnel who have given their lives in the line of duty. Chief Minister Gandapur expressed deep gratitude for their service, recognizing their crucial role in ensuring the province’s safety.

The Apex Committee emphasized the importance of a unified approach, calling for strong collaboration between civil authorities, security forces, and the public to effectively combat terrorism. A key decision was made for the police to take the lead in maintaining law and order, with a targeted strategy to strengthen the capabilities of both police and civil administration.
