Christians in Punjab voted for Nawaz Sharif; action should be taken, says former federal minister
Islamabad/Delaware: Former Federal Minister for Minority Affairs Akram Masih Gill has demanded that Christian representatives be included in both federal and provincial cabinets.

He expressed these views while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of an Urdu Church in Delaware, USA.
Akram Gill said that PML-N leader Mian Nawaz Sharif should personally take notice of the matter, as Christians in Punjab had voted for his party but are now being ignored.

He further stated that in Pakistan’s 52 National Assembly constituencies, minorities hold a significant number of votes that can influence upcoming elections. Therefore, Christian representatives should also be included in the cabinet so they can effectively represent their communities.
He added that the state is politically, religiously, and economically weakening minorities, while their concerns are also not being properly heard in the judiciary, which is causing anxiety among minority communities in Pakistan.
He said the state should bring minorities into the national mainstream and ensure equal rights for all citizens.
On this occasion, the host of the ceremony, Chairman JFB Church Ministries International USA, Bishop Mahboob John, offered special prayers for Pakistan’s security, prosperity, and development.
The ceremony was attended by Father Peter Augustine, Pastor Safdar Masih, Pastor Siddique Sindhu, Pastor Robert David, Pastor Aslam Masih, Pastor Romeo, Pastor Kenny, Pastor Shazia Safdar, Catherine Mahboob, Pastor Shazia Mahboob, Manzoor Alam, Wilson Khan, Justin Gill, Salman Chaudhry, and a large number of members of the Pakistani-American community.
