Pakistan EPS center urges returned Pakistani workers to claim unpaid ‘dormant insurance’ benefits

Islamabad, April 30,2026: The Pakistan EPS Center has launched a campaign urging Pakistani workers who returned home after completing employment in South Korea under the Employment Permit System (E-9) to claim their uncollected “Dormant Insurance” benefits.

According to a statement issued by the Embassy of Korea on Thursday, dormant insurance refers to insurance payments — including Departure Guarantee Insurance and Return Cost Insurance — that have remained unclaimed for more than three years after workers became eligible to receive them. As a result, the legal statute of limitations on these claims has expired.

The funds, originally designated for severance payments and return airfare, are currently being held by the Human Resources Development Service of Korea (HRDK).

The statement noted that a large number of eligible workers have yet to claim their payments, while authorities have faced difficulties contacting them due to outdated or incorrect contact information.

To facilitate the process, the Pakistan EPS Center, in collaboration with the Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC), has published a list of eligible workers on the official OEC website.

Returned workers have been advised to check their eligibility through the OEC portal. Those whose names appear on the list are required to follow the online instructions, prepare the necessary documents, and submit their applications to the Pakistan EPS Center through registered mail.

The statement further said that workers who have recently returned to Pakistan without claiming their insurance benefits can directly apply to Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance or seek assistance from the Pakistan EPS Center by submitting an application.
